Equipment Suffixes and Prefixes
The equipment suffix indicates its strongest effect, so you can quickly tell what a piece is suited for based on its suffix. In addition to regular equipment, there is also much stronger relic equipment with its own rules. This page summarizes the suffixes for commanders and castellans and how the star system of relics works.
What is a Suffix and Why Does it Matter
Each piece of equipment has a suffix that names its strongest effect. When you know what each suffix does, you can quickly sort your finds and assemble targeted sets, such as a purely offensive set or a defensive set for the castellan. The specific percentage (XX %) depends on the quality and stars of the given piece.
Commander Equipment Suffixes (Attack)
Commander equipment focuses on attack and army movement. The most important suffixes are:
- Unstoppable – reduces enemy moat protection.
- Besieger – reduces enemy wall protection.
- Breaker – reduces enemy gate protection.
- Combatant – increases melee unit strength; Bowman – increases archer strength.
- Marauder – more looted resources; Hero – more glory when attacking; Just – more honor.
- Attacker – faster army; Miser – lower travel costs; Deceitful – army is revealed later.
- Treasure Hunter – higher chance of strong equipment; Fervent – more fire damage; Destroyer – higher chance to destroy buildings.
Castellan Equipment Suffixes (Defense)
Castellan equipment strengthens the castle's defense:
- Steadfast – wall protection; Unbroken – gate protection; Entrenched – moat protection.
- Shield Wall – melee unit strength; Iron Rain – archer strength in defense.
- Defender – more glory when defending; Scout – earlier detection of attacks; Firefighter – lower fire damage when defending.
- Conqueror – shorter occupation time when conquering; Invader – faster army when conquering; Concealed – fewer lost resources after looting.
Relic Equipment
Relic equipment consists of blue pieces with extremely strong bonuses. They are subject to special rules:
- They can only be combined with other relics, sold for relic shards, and cannot be used in Smithy's Forge.
- You can obtain them from certain events, the alliance blacksmith, Master Blacksmith, equipment trader, Luna's trade boat, Attack of the Shapeshifter shops, or from Ruby offers. You can start crafting them at the alliance blacksmith only from level 70.
- Their heroes provide unique bonuses. Relics (like epic and better) provide 3 different boosters and relic heroes give a total of 5 or 6 effects, all positive. The update from June 2022 introduced pieces with 4 primary bonuses.
Star System and Quality Attributes
Relics use a 7-star system in three sets: levels 1-3 are blue stars (standard), 4-6 are silver (premium), and level 7 consists of three gold stars (highest premium). Based on the star distribution, a piece receives a quality attribute that precedes the base name in the title.
- Weakest: Tainted (all stats 1 star).
- Progressively: Timeworn, Battle-scarred, Regular, Pure, Superior.
- Best: Divine (all stats 3 stars and above).
Note: after the update on August 19, 2024, the economic bonuses of the castellan only work when the corresponding resource production is actively running in the castle or outpost. Without active production, the castellan's production bonus does not activate.
