War of the Realms

War of the Realms is one of the oldest major events in the game — it has been running since June 25, 2014, and returns approximately every two weeks. Around your castle, 10 foreign lords' castles will appear on the world map, representing real players from other servers. Your task is to defeat them, collect glory points, and choose rewards for milestones as well as for your ranking in your level group. Since April 15, 2021, the event requires a minimum level of 20.

War of the Realms

How the event works

You will be informed about the start of the event by a message in your inbox, and a military camp will grow in front of your castle. On the world map around you, you will find 10 foreign castles with different appearances — these are foreign lords. The goal is simple: attack, defeat them, and rake in glory points.

  • Milestone rewards — for exceeding point thresholds, you receive rewards continuously during the event (the thresholds vary according to your level).
  • Ranking rewards — at the end of the event, you will receive a second set based on your placement in your level group.
  • Alliance rewards — these are locked until you defeat a foreign castle with at least the required number of glory points in a single attack.

Foreign lords used to attack your main castle as well, but this mechanic was removed on January 22, 2019 — today, the event is purely offensive, and nothing threatens you in it.

Classic mode vs. 11 difficulties

Since November 2, 2021, at the beginning of the event, you must choose a difficulty — and once you choose it, it cannot be changed until the next event. Without selecting a difficulty, you cannot spy or attack.

  • There are a total of 11 difficulties; six higher ones are unlocked by completing achievements, or you can unlock them for the current event with rubies.
  • The highest difficulty Archmaster was added on June 30, 2022 (the previous Archmaster was renamed to Master+).
  • Classic mode remains the best choice if you mainly want gold and silver parts for the Master Blacksmith — the rewards correspond to the older version of the event.

Legendary players are divided into 4 level categories (1-299, 300-649, 650-949, and 950) in classic mode, while players below level 70 fall into one common group. If at least one member of the alliance chooses classic mode, the alliance still receives rewards for the alliance fund.

Foreign lords and dethroning

Each foreign castle has its own defense and level derived from yours. The defense may occasionally change, even while your attack is on the way — but this is relatively rare. After being defeated, the castle disappears for about 30 minutes to 1 hour and is replaced by a new one with different defense and level.

Legendary players (70+) can dethrone lords — this costs Khan's tablets, Khan's medals, samurai tokens, silver or gold parts, or rubies:

  • Exile — has the same effect as defeating a castle, just without waiting. The new castle can be stronger or weaker; there is no guarantee.
  • Fortify — adds 520 to 1000 additional defenders to the castle; the probability follows a bell curve, so you will most often receive about 760 defenders.

The dethroned castle will also be partially occupied by units Knight of the Throne-Watcher and Marksman of the Throne-Watcher with the statistics of royal units. The cost of each subsequent dethroning increases and resets only after defeating a foreign lord — losing does not decrease it, even if you gain glory points.

Strategies for maximum points

The event is a marathon for glory points, so a few principles pay off:

  • In classic mode, aim for 850,000 glory points: the milestone alone gives 4000 gold and 1000 silver parts, and you will take home about 7500 gold parts for the event in total.
  • Send attacks with more than 4000 soldiers — you will extract more glory per attack.
  • Deploy a 400% seasonal points booster and try to earn at least 30 seasonal points per attack.
  • In difficulty mode, always clear the first wave — without that, you won't reach higher points. The best tool is the Emperor's banner.
  • Unlock higher difficulties by progressing through achievements, not for rubies — the exception is when you want to go straight for Archmaster or more rewards.

Individual rewards

Selected milestones of classic mode for legendary players (the last major adjustment of rewards took place on January 30, 2023):

Glory PointsReward
5,00050 silver parts
80,000500 gold parts
400,0002500 gold + 500 silver parts
850,0004000 gold + 1000 silver parts
5,800,000Throne of Death (+2500 public order)
15,000,0005000 silver parts
WinnerWinter Hospital (+10,000 food/h for 60 hours) + castellan Undefined castle lord with 3 golden stars

In difficulty mode, legendary players receive according to the category, among other things, veterans (Veteran demon horror, Veteran deathly horror), Shield maiden and Valkyrie ranger units up to level 10, pirate buildings, sceats, offerings for Ludwig, Ulrich, and Beatrice, and a lot of building and upgrade tokens. The winner of the highest category (950) receives 5 offerings for Beatrice and the Sun Dial of Gallantry level 7 (+7 waves, for 14 days).

Alliance rewards

The alliance leaderboard collects glory points for the entire alliance; the rewards were last revamped in June 2025. Remember that they unlock only after your sufficiently strong single attack. Selected thresholds:

Alliance PointsReward
108,75038 silver parts
2,011,875188 gold parts
2,392,5008 spirit doubloons
1,462,596,875100,000 rubies for the alliance fund
1,680,821,875200,000 rubies for the alliance fund
Winner2 offerings for Beatrice + Sun Dial of Gallantry level 5 (+5 waves, for 10 days)
2nd place28 building tokens + Alien Menace Emblem (+30% unit limit on wings during attack, for 9 days)
3rd place70 upgrade tokens + pirate defensive workshop (+60% strength in the courtyard during attack, for 4 days)
Pro player tipIn difficulty mode, always build attacks so that the first wave passes — ideally with the Emperor's banner. And unlock higher difficulties by completing achievements for free; save rubies for when you really want to jump straight to Archmaster.
Common mistakeChoosing a difficulty without thinking. Since November 2021, once you choose a difficulty, you cannot change it until the next event — if you overshoot, you will be looking at castles you cannot defeat for two weeks. A second common mistake: forgetting to unlock alliance rewards, which require one sufficiently strong attack with the required number of glory points.
