Collector Events and Grand Events

Collector Events and Grand Events are two core event series in GGE. In Collector Events, you collect and defend a time-limited currency through anonymous attacks on other players, while in Grand Events, you fill a points tally for gold and special currencies over the course of a month. Both are played quite differently and reward different styles.

Collector Events and Grand Events

Collector Events - how they work

Collector Event lasts 7 days and revolves around collecting a time-limited currency through anonymous attacks on other players. At the start, you receive 1000 currency units and one special equipment item as a gift. Each day, the currency you own increases by 35 % (calculated at midnight CET/CEST).

The key point: in collector attacks, you do not lose soldiers or tools and buildings do not burn - soldiers return immediately after the battle report, whether you win or lose. Rewards at the end depend on how much currency you have left, so you must attack and defend simultaneously to prevent your currency from being stolen.

How much currency you loot

A basic attack without tools loots 5 % of the currency the enemy has. This can be increased:

  • Gift hero look item (+5 %) - received for free at the start.
  • Paid look item (+10 %) - available in the shop for 1666 rubies, valid for 1 day.
  • Boosters: 1 booster = +1 %, costs 50 rubies, max. 15 boosters (750 rubies) = +15 % in one attack.

Combinations stack: hero look item +10 % and 15 boosters give 30 % loot. From a player with 1000 points, a basic attack takes 50, fully equipped up to 300. Note - if you use boosters and lose, they are forfeited.

Themes and rewards of Collector Events

The same mechanics run under changing names according to the season: Elemental Knights (essences), The Reaper's Wrath (souls, Halloween), The Ice Stalkers (furs, winter), Carnival of the Phoenix (beads), Herald of Spring (bees), Summer Tea Party (teapots) or Anniversary Party Raid (balloons).

Rewards (according to the adjustment from March 2024) range from silver and gold to decorations and look items to Affluence tickets. After the event ends, a shop runs for a few days where you can buy permanent decorations and look items for rubies that were previously only available for points.

Grand Events - monthly points tally

Grand Events (previously seasonal, now run one after another) last about one month and run concurrently with the Kingdom's League. They are hosted by King Ludwig the Round in various costumes. All GE function the same, differing only in name and theme - Ice Championship, King Eric's Challenge, The Emerald Trial, Summer Solstice Fiesta, Nail-biter Event, and others depending on the month.

Participation is from level 50 (since July 2021, players at levels 10-49 do not participate). Since April 2022, rewards mainly consist of temporary currencies (glacier token, spooky token, lotus token, wintertide charms...), which you can limitedly purchase from the Master Blacksmith. From March 2025, the leaderboards have also changed from server-based to global.

What to take away from this

Both series reward different approaches. Collector is a short, low-risk sprint battle for currency, where a mix of attack, defense, and purchasing look items/boosters determines the outcome. Grand Events are an endurance monthly points tally for gold, upgrade and construction tokens, and offerings for Ludwig, Ulrich, and Beatrice - reward levels for legendary characters (e.g., level 950) go into thousands of points per tier.

Pro player tipIn the Collector Event, do not forget to defend your own currency - at the end, the reward is calculated from what you have left, so a robbed player with a lot of attacks may end up worse than a cautious defender.
Common mistakeUsing boosters and sending an attack that you are not sure about - if you lose, the boosters are forfeited and the rubies are gone. And newcomers below level 50 cannot participate in Grand Events at all.
