Beyond the Horizon
Beyond the Horizon is an alliance-team event on a temporary server, where alliances from around the world compete for influence points. It was first released on October 25, 2019, and is a newer, more sophisticated variant of Outer Realms. It is not about defending your home castle, but about conquering and holding locations on a foreign map for as much influence as possible.
Who can register and how registration works
Only lords at level 30 and above who are in an alliance can participate. Be careful about one thing that people regularly fall for: if you leave or change your alliance during the event, you will lose your participation (unless you have already entered the event earlier). Registration is open for only 2 days, after which it closes, and those who did not join must wait for the next occurrence.
Alliances on the server are divided into Horizon Alliances (HA) with a maximum of 22 members. The first person from your alliance to register becomes the leader of the HA and controls the capital city. The 23rd and 45th in order lead the second and third HA. In a 65-member alliance, the last 5 people will end up in a separate HA with only three or five members. Therefore, it is advisable to agree in advance on who will enter when.
There are 4 entry packages to choose from: Pioneer's Outpost (free), Royal Keep, and Battalion's Keep (19999 rubies), and Emperor's Palace (400000 rubies).
Map and Tangled Wilderness mechanics
The event is played in a world called Tangled Wilderness - a dense jungle occupied by natives and warring alliances. There are two layouts: one with a fixed room containing 20 Royal Towers and 61 city-states, and the other with locations spread across the map, where there are fewer city-states. City-states and observation towers reset every day and disappear from east to west.
- No Friends: once you enter, you automatically have war with all alliances, and it cannot be permanently changed.
- Living Jungle: each day the jungle thickens with trees and climbing plants, which gradually devalues the observation towers.
- Influence: the main currency of the event. It is mainly collected in city-states but can also be stolen from enemy castles and capitals. At the end of each day, the influence from players' castles is transferred to the alliance's capital city.
Locations on the map
- Alliance Capitals: store all the influence collected by the alliance. Enemies can attack them and steal influence. The owner remains the first member of the alliance regardless of titles.
- City States: you conquer and hold them, and the influence is transferred to you for up to 8 hours. After 8 hours, the state disappears, soldiers return immediately, and you gain 100000 influence. Each alliance can have a maximum of 5 together, and one player can only hold 1. You can shorten the occupation time for rubies (2500 for -25%, 5000 for -75%).
- Observation Towers: provide a bonus when attacking city-states and capitals, but due to the Living Jungle, they become obsolete over time and reset daily.
- Cultist Shrines: the most common locations, you attack them for XP, wood, and stone. With each defeat, their level and rewards increase, with a maximum level of 40.
Merchants and purchases
There are 3 merchants on the server. Armorer sells soldiers, tools, and tokens cheaper than on the regular server (limit of 500 soldiers, 30 upgrade tokens, 24 construction tokens, reset approximately every 4 hours). Equipment Trader offers 6 sets of equipment with a bonus of 90/90 for both melee and ranged, each set available only 2 times per event (e.g., Apparatus of the Summoner's Apprentice for 60000 rubies). Traveling Merchant replenishes resources. Occasionally, the Armorer and Traveling Merchant have a limited-time 50% discount on ruby soldiers and resources - this is the best time to buy.
Rewards
There are two types of rewards. Alliance rewards are calculated based on the influence you have left in the capital at the end of the event - so it is worth defending it, as the enemy can steal it by attacking the capital. Individual rewards are calculated daily based on how much influence you collected that day from enemy capitals, city-states, and castles. Since August 2023, the rewards have been revamped.
Example: if you gain 100000 from city-states and 3500 from enemy capitals in a day, your daily influence gain is 103500.
