Ancient Relics
The word relic means two things in Goodgame Empire, and players often confuse them. Firstly, it refers to the highest quality of equipment (relic equipment) for generals and castellan, and secondly, the decoration Ancient Relic, which you receive for completing the first bandit map of the adventure. Here we will explain both, as both will be useful to you.
Relics as the highest quality equipment
In the quality ranking, equipment goes from weakest to strongest as follows: ordinary (ordinary), rare (rare), epic (epic), legendary (legendary), unique (unique), and at the very top relic (relic). Relic pieces provide by far the strongest bonuses in the game and are the only ones that cannot simply be purchased or forged in a regular blacksmith.
- Relics for generals increase bonuses to attack, defense, army capacity, and march speed.
- Relics for castellans (especially the so-called hero pieces) additionally provide economic bonuses — resource production, storage capacity, public order, and so on.
- Gems can be embedded into relic equipment, further enhancing it.
How many Might points they give
Relics are also record holders in Might points. Depending on the quality, one equipped piece of equipment gives approximately:
- Ordinary: 10 Might points
- Rare: 50
- Epic: 100
- Legendary: 200
- Unique: 2000
- Relic: 5000 Might points for a single piece
The actual value for unique and relic pieces varies by about plus or minus 15%. A few relics can boost your Might by tens of thousands of points — that’s why players with full relic equipment mainly hold the top spots in the Might rankings.
Where to obtain relics
Relic equipment cannot be purchased for rubies with a single click. You mainly obtain it through:
- Special events and their shops (wheel of fortune, seasonal events, Berimond, and others).
- Forging from relic shards, which you receive when you dismantle relics or collect them from rewards.
- Rewards for extremely high Might milestones (for example, a permanent relic piece for a castellan can be obtained at million Might milestones).
Because relics are sold for shards and not for coins, it is not advisable to dismantle them recklessly — collect shards specifically for the piece you really want.
Decoration Ancient Relic
Under the same name, you will also find the decorative item Ancient Relic. It can only be obtained in one way — by completing the first bandit map of the adventure. The discovered artifacts from the adventure can be found in the construction menu under the storehouse tab, and then you can place them around your castle as decoration. It is purely decorative, but a nice proof for collectors that you have completed that map.
