Wolverine ram – Goodgame Empire

Wolverine ram

Offensive

A reliable siege weapon for breaking through strong wall defenses with a glory bonus. Indispensable against fortified targets, unnecessary against soft ones.

Quick overview

TypeOffensive

The battering ram "wolverine" is a reliable siege weapon that will always come in handy in your offensive arsenal. Its task is clear: it will gnaw at the defense of the walls, making the hard stone shell of the target hold less than it would like. Additionally, it gives you more glory points, which you will appreciate every time you aim for a ranking position. My opinion: a dependable worker that does the dirty work on the walls and clears the way for your units to get inside.

How to use it

Send it against castles that stand or fall with solid walls and defensive towers. The more fortified the target, the more the wolverine excels, as it takes down precisely the layer of defense where attacks often get stuck. Against soft targets without significant wall defenses, its contribution fades away, so it's better to leave it behind there. Take it mainly into battles where it is known that the main clash will take place over the walls.

What to combine it with

It belongs to a purely offensive siege composition alongside striking units that target walls and towers. The wolverine reduces the target's defense for them, and then they can strike fully; one without the other loses its meaning. Thanks to the glory bonus, it fits especially well into compositions you build for events and rankings. Do not mix it with defensive tools; they belong to a completely different role.

Pro player tipThe main trick is to read the target's defense, not to throw the wolverine into every attack out of habit. Before sending your troops, check if the opponent has invested in walls and towers, and assign it accordingly. Glory is counted all the time, but the wolverine will only return its full value where there is something to break through.
Common mistakeThe most common mistake is deploying it everywhere without thinking and relying on it to always work. Against targets without proper wall defense, it just blocks a slot that a more useful tool deserved. Another classic is sending it with a handful of striking units: you may reduce the defense, but you have nothing to capitalize on that advantage, and the benefit is lost.
