The claw – Goodgame Empire

The claw

Offensive

A siege tool that opens the entrance and adds bravery. Take it on tougher targets and especially into Berimond, do not waste it on weak opponents.

Quick overview

TypeOffensive

The Ram is a siege tool that will break down the gate - and for most targets, the gate is where the attack falters. Those who do not breach it in time waste a wave at a place where there is nothing to conquer. The Ram solves this knot and also gives you bravery points, so you will appreciate it not only in a regular attack but especially where bravery counts. It belongs to the offensive equipment you take against tougher opponents and into Berimond.

How to use it

Use it on targets where the gate realistically holds you back - that is, on castles and fortifications that have their defense primarily built around the entrance. The Ram goes against that part of the defense, while the rest of the setup must handle the walls, towers, and defensive units. It pays off fully in Berimond and during the Berimond invasion, where attacks are made on a large scale and every bravery point counts for you - there, that bonus makes a difference that you might not notice on a regular map.

What to combine it with

Combine it in your offensive setup with swordsmen and archers depending on where the target has concentrated defense. It will cover the entrance itself, so add tools and bonuses for walls and towers to pressure the entire defense at once, not just one point. In Berimond, include it in setups built for bravery, where its bonus adds up with other sources of points and boosts your overall gain.

Pro player tipKeep an eye on your supply of Rams even before the invasion starts. During it, attacks are made at a pace, and gathering tools on the go only wastes time that you will then lack for the actual attacks. Prepare as many as you expect to play rounds - better a few more than to find yourself without them in the middle of a raid.
Common mistakeThe most common mistake is treating the Ram as a solution for the entire defense. It will open the entrance for you, but behind the walls and towers, an army is still waiting - if you underestimate the rest of the tools, the attack will still fail, just one step further. The second mistake is wasting it on weak targets that you could breach even without it. Then you will find yourself lacking it exactly when you need it the most, and you won't have time to replenish it in a hurry.
