Elite nomad ram – Goodgame Empire

Elite nomad ram

Offensive

A specialist on nomad gates - excellent at its one task, but only in the right composition and only against nomads.

Quick overview

TypeOffensive

The elite nomad ram has one clear task: to break down the gate defense at nomad camps. When you attack nomads, the gate often slows you down the most, and regular rams are not enough for it. This elite piece will significantly weaken the gate and open the way for the rest of the army. A classic siege tool of the type "one purpose, but does it well" - don't expect versatility, expect a reliable breakthrough against the nomads.

How to use it

Deploy it exclusively against nomad camps; you won't use it anywhere else. It is especially useful against heavily fortified camps where you know that without breaking the gate, you would only be feeding the defenders with your own troops. The more you reduce the gate's defense, the fewer losses your units will suffer. Therefore, send it with the attack to break the gate and clear the way for the main force, rather than hiding it on the edge of the formation.

What to combine it with

On its own, it won't capture the camp; it is a support tool. Combine it with other siege engines that deal with the rest of the fortifications, and with a solid attacking unit composition that will rush in as soon as the gate is broken. Supplement it with offensive tools and officers that increase the army's attack to fully realize the advantage from the weakened gate. Consider it as one piece of the nomad siege puzzle.

Pro player tipKeep a stock of these rams ready so you're prepared whenever a nomad event appears - you won't have to frantically catch up on production at the last minute. And don't overdo it with the quantity in one attack: monitor how much defense reduction you actually need to break the gate, and allocate the rest of the space to units and other tools.
Common mistakeThe most common mistake is to drag it to regular targets - enemy castles or anything other than nomads. You won't use it there at all and will just waste resources and production space. The second mistake is relying solely on the ram and sending a weak army: a broken gate won't help you if you don't have enough units and support behind it to actually take the camp.
