Offensive

A must-have for anyone who regularly crushes nomadic camps - it lowers gate protection and saves your units, but only in the right wave and only against nomads.

Quick overview

TypeOffensive

The incendiary wagon is a highly specialized siege tool - its sole purpose is to lower the gate protection level of the enemy target. And beware, it works exclusively against nomadic camps; you can't deploy it anywhere else. So don't confuse it with regular siege equipment for castles. It's strictly a nomadic affair, and those who regularly crush nomads know that without something for the gate, it takes time and resources to conquer.

How to use it

You deploy it in an attack on a nomadic camp, specifically against its gate. The gate of the nomads can significantly overestimate its defense, so it makes sense to send incendiary wagons in the first wave to lower the gate protection before your main strike force arrives. The more you reduce the gate protection, the fewer losses your units will incur at the gate. If you plan a series of attacks on one camp, it's worth pouring the wagons fully into waves specifically aimed at the gate.

What to combine it with

By itself, it won't conquer the camp - it's a support tool, not a replacement for an army. Combine it in your attack formation with enough offensive units and tools for the other defensive elements, so that the entire combination fits all the defensive values of the camp, including the gate. The logic is simple: the incendiary wagon deals with the gate, while the rest of the tools and units deal with the walls and slots. Without a balanced formation, the wagons alone won't help you much.

Pro player tipPut the wagons in waves that are truly aimed at the gate - if you shove them into a wave targeting elsewhere, the gate protection will remain high, and the tool will be wasted. Experienced nomad crushers create saved formations specifically for camps, where they have the ratio of wagons to units fine-tuned, and they just repeatedly use them during campaigns so they don't have to assemble the attack from scratch each time.
Common mistakeThe most common mistake is trying to use it outside of nomads - it's completely useless against regular castles, BK, or other targets; you can't deploy it there. The second classic mistake is throwing it into the wrong wave or against another side of the camp, so it doesn't actually reduce the gate protection and just takes up space in the formation where something useful could have been.
