Tonnelon

Offensive

A dual-purpose siege tool that knocks down wall defense and simultaneously increases your glory - great for targeted attacks on fortified targets, but a shame to waste it anywhere.

Quick overview

TypeOffensive

The Lifter is a siege tool with two tasks at once - it reduces the defense of enemy walls and simultaneously increases the amount of glory points you earn. A solid choice for attack, appreciated mainly by those who do not play just for loot but want to climb the glory leaderboard. As a pure specialist on walls, it has competition, but that combination of "I break the defense and also get more glory" makes it a tool worth having in your backpack.

How to use it

Deploy it on targets with high wall defense - where the defensive wall hurts you the most. It fits on opponents' castles as well as on targets in the world where you care about the resulting glory. The logic is simple: the sooner you knock down the wall defense, the less the defense hurts you, and the cleaner the attack will proceed. The glory bonus means that the same attack you would do anyway will give you more in the leaderboard.

What to combine it with

It belongs to the classic siege setup alongside other tools that break defenses and push offensive values. It works best when you combine it with other tools for defense so that the entire defensive line falls at once and not in pieces. In your backpack, add tools that increase unit attack - the defense is down thanks to the Lifter, the attack is up thanks to the rest, and glory is stacking up for you. Keep an eye on the limit of carried tools and do not waste slots on items that clash in the same attack.

Pro player tipBefore a larger attack, scout the opponent's defense. On a target without proper wall defense, part of its strength - reducing defense - will hardly show, so only take it there when you mainly care about glory. You will get the full value from it on heavily fortified targets, where both of its functions work at once: it knocks down defense and simultaneously adds glory.
Common mistakeThe biggest mistake is to throw the Lifter into every attack thoughtlessly, as if it were free. Burning it on insignificant targets means that it will run out just when you really need it for a proper fortified castle. Another classic is relying solely on it - while it will reduce defense and add glory, if you have nothing to strike with, the losses in your army will still eat you up. Complement it with attack tools.
