Onslaught bridge – Goodgame Empire

Onslaught bridge

Offensive

A great siege tool for castles with a moat, where it makes it easier for you to cross the moat front and also adds glory points. However, it is unnecessary on targets without a moat, so deploy it wisely.

Quick overview

TypeOffensive

The Siege Bridge is a purely offensive siege tool that you will use when attacking a castle protected by a moat. It helps you overcome that moat, making it less effective for the defense, and your units can advance more easily. Additionally, it increases your glory points for the victory achieved, so it makes sense to have it in your backpack every time you go to a foreign castle with a moat. By itself, it won't win you the attack, but you can gain a decent advantage from it on the right target.

How to use it

Deploy it when you are attacking a castle that has a moat as part of its defense. There, the bridge will help you overcome the moat front, allowing your units to pass through more easily and with fewer losses. Once you are targeting a location without a moat, it is a wasted slot for nothing. Plan ahead based on what you know about the castle, and combine it with a regular offensive setup, not as a replacement.

What to combine it with

It belongs to a full offensive setup of siege tools, not on its own. Combine it with tools that address other types of defense of the target (walls, gates, towers) so that the defender has no place to stop you. While other tools break their fronts, the bridge will take care of the moat front. It works best in conjunction with strong offensive units and a commander focused on attack.

Pro player tipBefore every major attack, take a look at the defense of the target and only then decide whether to take the bridge. Its strength lies in the dual effect of overcoming the moat and the additional glory, so save it for valuable targets where it really pays off, and not for every small raid. It will give you nothing on a castle without a moat.
Common mistakeThe most common mistake is to bring it to every attack without thinking, even where the target has no moat. There, it gives you nothing, just takes up space that could have been used by another, more useful tool. Another classic is relying on the attack to win by itself and underestimating the rest of the setup.
