The Siege Ladder is a siege tool that reduces the defender's wall protection. The lower the wall defense, the fewer of your troops will perish on the ramparts, and more attackers will get inside. By itself, it doesn't perform miracles, but when added to a proper army, the impact on losses is noticeable. It's not a blockbuster, but rather a reliable worker in the offensive lineup.

How to use it

Deploy it when attacking a castle with high wall defense, typically against active players or heavily fortified targets, where the walls themselves cost you a lot of units. You throw it into the offensive lineup along with your troops, and its effect will be reflected in the battle calculation, allowing your soldiers to pass through the walls more effectively. You don't need to use it against weakly defended targets; there, sheer numbers will suffice.

What to combine it with

It mainly belongs to the classic offensive lineup with troops focused on fighting on the walls, alongside other siege tools. It works well with tools that increase your units' attack or further crush the defense, as they complement each other, and the defender on the ramparts falls faster. By itself, it is not enough; consider it as a supplement to the army, not a replacement for it.

Pro player tipBefore you attack, check how strongly the target is defended. The ladder will show its greatest effect where the walls are genuinely painful for you, so save it for well-fortified castles. Remember, it is not a standalone weapon but support for the army, so always send it in together with an army strong enough to breach the weakened wall.

Common mistakeThe most common mistake is throwing it at everything indiscriminately, even at weak targets where you didn't need to reduce any defense. The second is sending it into battle with a poor army and expecting it to solve things for you. The ladder will weaken the wall defense, but the units that get inside must still be strong enough; otherwise, the tool just takes up space, and your losses will be high.
