Elite tonnelon

Offensive

A solid siege tool for attacks aimed at glory against defended targets. Deploy it purposefully, not broadly.

Quick overview

TypeOffensive

The Elite Catapult is a siege tool with two tasks at once. It weakens the defense of the opponent's walls while also increasing the glory you gain from the attack. This is exactly what you want when going into PvP or against a well-defended target. Players appreciate it mainly for the second bonus, as glory is often something you lack, and every additional resource is useful. It won't bring the walls down to zero by itself, but in a well-structured setup, it becomes a great helper.

How to use it

Deploy it when attacking a target with heavily reinforced walls, typically an active opponent's castle or a place where you know the defender has placed a lot of defensive tools on the walls. By reducing the wall protection, you allow your soldiers to advance further and reduce your losses. Also, take it everywhere you are aiming for glory, whether it's leaderboard events, seasons, or reward hunts. It's a waste to use it for regular smashing of weak targets where you could get through without it, as tools are consumed.

What to combine it with

It belongs to a full-fledged attacking setup alongside tools that deal with the actual wall breach, and complement it with means against defenders on the walls. It pairs excellently with anything that also increases glory, as bonuses stack, allowing you to gain significantly more from a successful attack. And don't forget to support it with the appropriate type of troops and a commander with an attack bonus, so the weakened defense doesn't go to waste.

Pro player tipSave your elite catapults for attacks that you want to win for glory. One well-timed attack during a glory event will give you more than a bunch of deployments in peace between seasons. It's worth producing and stockpiling them in advance, as there is often no time for production in the heat of battle.
Common mistakeThe most common mistake is to throw it at every attack without thinking, including weak unprotected targets. There, the benefit of weakening the walls is hardly utilized, and the glory bonus from a small target isn't worth the consumed tool. The second mistake is relying on it as the main wall breaker. That is not its role; it won't bring down the walls entirely by itself and needs partners in the setup.
