The Ruby Mine is your own source of rubies directly from the castle - instead of chasing them in events or spending them, they regularly drip into your storage as cargo. You can then exchange rubies for equipment in the workshop, for resources, or for reducing times, so having a stable personal supply is always useful. In player terms: this product will never be lost, but it won't move you up the leaderboard by itself.
When to build it
Build it as soon as you have space and the rest of your economy (food, wood, stone) is running reliably. It’s not a building that should delay barracks, storage, or the production of basic resources - rubies are an enhancement, not fuel for everyday building and recruiting. Think of it as an investment in time: the sooner it’s built, the longer the ruby cargo drips. Therefore, if you have free capacity, don’t postpone it, but also don’t turn your priorities upside down for it.
Is it worth upgrading?
Here it’s simple - the mine has a maximum level of 1, so you don’t deal with any upgrades. You build it and that’s it, you don’t pour any resources or time into it afterwards. This is actually nice: there’s no dilemma about whether to invest in another level. A one-time build, long-term yield.
