Decorative item

Economic

A pleasant economic supplement that boosts order and production, but never at the expense of defense and key buildings.

Quick overview

CategoryEconomic
Max level1
Size5×10
PriorityOptional

The decorative element is purely an economic "ornament" that increases your public order while also adding to resource production. Don't expect any defense or miracles from it in a single tile - its strength lies in the fact that it combines two things at once: a satisfied population and more resources. You won't prioritize it on its own, but rather as a supplement that fine-tunes the economy of the castle, making sense.

When to build it

Build it when you have the basics covered - that is, functioning production, storage, and especially enough defensive buildings. Consider the decorative element as an additional layer when you have extra space and want to push public order a bit higher or mitigate the drop in order after constructing additional production buildings. It's not something you should chase right at the beginning, but it's also not a triviality that you should ignore indefinitely.

Is it worth upgrading?

Here it's simple: it has a maximum level of 1, so you don't deal with any upgrades. You build it and that's where it ends for you - the bonus it provides is fixed. This is actually an advantage because you don't have to pour resources into upgrades like with other buildings. Either you want it and have space for it, or you don't.

Pro player tipNever address public order with just one building - combine the decorative element with other sources of order so that you have a reserve for building additional production buildings that decrease order. Save the decorative element for corners and edges of the castle where you can't fit anything more useful, and make full use of that space instead of letting it go to waste.
Common mistakeThe most common mistake is to throw decorative elements everywhere and take up space that would better serve production or defensive buildings. With a size of 5×10, it's not exactly small - it takes up a decent chunk of area. The second mistake is the opposite: players completely neglect public order, then their production drops due to dissatisfaction and they wonder why the economy is limping.
