Dry storehouse – Goodgame Empire

Dry storehouse

Economic

A cheap multiplier for coal production. It pays off exactly when you have enough charcoal burners for the percentages to make a difference.

Quick overview

CategoryEconomic
Max level5
Size6×9
PriorityMedium priority

The dry store is the quiet workhorse of your economy. It does not produce a single piece of coal by itself, but it adds extra percentages to the production of all the charcoal burners in the castle. And since you literally consume charcoal all the time, for food, for production, and for the functioning of the entire empire, the store quietly alleviates your needs from the moment it stands. It is not a building you would show off to your friends, but over time you will recognize it in your wood supplies.

When to build it

Here lies the core of the entire strategy: because the store increases production percentage-wise, its cost only makes sense when you have a decent base of charcoal burners in the castle. With one or two, the bonus is negligible and that spot could be used for something more useful. However, as soon as you start building charcoal burners on a large scale and coal disappears faster than it is produced, the dry store is one of the first economic buildings you will reach for. With a size of 6×9, it takes up a significant amount of space, so plan it directly for the castle, not in the cramped outer area.

Is it worth upgrading?

Upgrade it with the development of the castle, not beforehand. In a developed castle full of charcoal burners, each level is significantly noticeable, so if you are still growing, feel free to leave it at a lower level and return to it once you have more charcoal burners. Save the path to maximum level 5 for the phase when your economy is fine-tuned and you are looking for those last percentages of performance.

Pro player tipWhen planning your economy, consider the order: the store is a multiplier, so before you pour resources into it, check if the same resources could yield more elsewhere, perhaps in a building that handles production or storage differently. And before construction, review the castle layout due to the size of 6×9, so you have room left for the charcoal burners that the store is meant to power.
Common mistakePlayers have ignored it for years, only pushing the charcoal burners themselves and then wondering why they never have enough coal, instead of adding a cheap percentage from the store. The other side of the same coin is upgrading the store to a high level in a half-empty castle, where it multiplies almost nothing. Keep the charcoal burners and the store in balance, and you won't encounter either of these extremes.
