Soldier's banner – Goodgame Empire

Soldier's banner

A cheap helper for leveling up - great for conquering certain battles, but don't use it in serious combat.

Quick overview

The soldier banner is purely an XP tool - you throw it into battle and it increases your experience points for attack or defense. It won't win you the battle by itself, it doesn't add any combat strength or bonuses to units, so consider it as a "leveling up supplement," not as serious equipment. For anyone pushing their level up, it's a welcome little addition, as every deployed banner counts.

How to use it

Deploy it when you are intentionally gathering experience - typically during attacks on weaker targets, on robber barons, or during defense where you can afford to add a few non-combat slots. It makes sense mainly in the phase when you want to level up as quickly as possible (to unlock better units, buildings, or tools). If you are going into a balanced fight for victory or ranking, it's better to skip the banner and sacrifice the slots for real combat equipment.

What to combine it with

Build your equipment focused on experience - combine the banner with other tools and heroes that also push for XP gain, so you can maximize the output from one attack on weak targets. It works well during an attack where you have already won the battle due to overwhelming numbers, allowing you to fill the remaining slots with these "bonus" tools instead of purely strength-based ones.

Pro player tipSave your banners for events and quests where you are rewarded for the level gained or the number of battles won - in such scenarios, the accelerated XP will bring you much more than in regular routines. And only deploy it where you are sure of victory; you will receive the experience increase anyway, so there is no reason to waste it on battles you might lose.
Common mistakeThe most common mistake is throwing the banner into important or uncertain battles, where you desperately need that slot for a proper combat tool - the result is a loss and the banner wasted. Another classic is forgetting that it only adds experience, not strength, and then wondering why you are losing with a "full setup."
