The bony ladder serves to breach walls like any other - deploy it according to the strength of the target's walls, not based on the enemy's faction.

The Raider's Ladder is a siege weapon made from the bones of fallen foreign raiders - just by its appearance, you can tell it doesn't belong to the usual collection from the Empire or the Desert. You will mainly encounter it with foreign lords and Ravens, who use it against you, but you can also turn it against them. Mechanically, it is just a normal ladder: its task is to get your units over the walls. The bony appearance and connection to those factions is mainly its origin, not some special advantage in battle.

How to use it

Deploy it in an attack like a classic ladder - it belongs in the wave where you deal with the opponent's walls. Its value does not depend on which faction you are facing, but on the defense of the target: the more important it is to breach the walls, the more the ladder pays off for you. It works against any target with walls, whether it's a foreign lord, Ravens, or an ordinary player. Stick to the rule that siege equipment should go in pairs with units - the ladder alone will not win you the attack, it will only open a path over the wall.

What to combine it with

It belongs in an offensive setup with infantry or striking units that will reach the defense inside after breaching the wall. Combine it with tools for towers and gates so that your setup covers all defensive elements of the target at once, not just the walls. The ladder itself exclusively deals with walls, so think of it as one piece of a puzzle - deploy the number of ladders according to how strong the wall in front of you is.

Pro player tipKeep it handy for waves where you expect high or strong walls - that's where it pays off the most. Don't focus on whether you are going against Ravens or foreign lords; decide based on the defense of the target. Before you attack, take a look at the type and height of the walls and prepare enough ladders and corresponding units so that you have something to push through after the breach.

Common mistakeThe biggest mistake is deploying ladders without sufficient support from units - you may get over the wall, but you won't have anything to crush the defense inside. The second mistake is basing your choice on the faction instead of the walls: the ladder has no special bonus against foreign lords or Ravens, it helps in attacking walls in general. If you unnecessarily save it only for these enemies, you will miss out on its usefulness everywhere else where you deal with walls.
