Invader bridge – Goodgame Empire

Invader bridge

The Raider Bridge alone will not win, but it will open a path to foreign lords and the Ravens that you otherwise cannot directly utilize. Activate it with an army ready behind you and do not forget that they can come through that same route - whoever masters this mechanic from both sides has the advantage.

Quick overview

The Raider Bridge is neither a building nor an offensive unit in the usual sense - it is a tool that opens a specific type of passage associated with foreign lords and the Ravens. When they come to visit you, they arrive via this route, and you can turn it around and set off after them. From a player's perspective, it is more of a thing that enables action rather than a weapon in itself - it does nothing on its own, but without it, you won't access this content as you need to.

How to use it

Reach for it when you are dealing with content related to foreign lords and the Ravens and want to actually get to where it is happening. It works both ways: the same route that these enemies use to attack you can also be used by you to pay them a visit. It is not the same item in their hands, but the same passage mechanic that you have available too. Keep the bridge for a specific purpose, not for blind opening.

What to combine it with

The bridge itself does not conquer anything - it belongs in a combination with an attacking army and a commander that you send to the other side as soon as the passage opens. Think of it as the opening element of the entire action: first the bridge, then everything else you would send for a regular offensive - units, reinforcements, commander support. You will get the most out of it when you have an expedition to the other world planned so that it is immediately ready for action and does not wait for you to catch up.

Pro player tipWatch where the foreign lords and the Ravens are pushing you from - when you see that they are threatening you through this route, expect that it works both ways, and plan your counterattack before they simply push you into defense. Initiative in this mechanic often decides whether you will only repel raids or dictate the pace yourself.
Common mistakeThe most common mistake is to take the Raider Bridge as a combat tool that will solve something on its own - it only opens the passage; the actual work must be done by the army behind it. And do not underestimate the defensive side of this mechanic: the same route can also bring foreign lords and the Ravens to you, so if you only think about your own attack and forget that someone can visit you back, it can easily catch you off guard.
