Lime powder bomb – Goodgame Empire

Lime powder bomb

A solid defensive supplement against close attacks, but only as part of a well-thought-out defense, not as a replacement for it.

Quick overview

The Lime Bomb is purely a defensive item for your fortress. It increases the combat strength of defenders who fight in close combat (melee), so when someone attacks your castle or outpost, these defenders will deal more damage to the attacker. Think of it as support for defense, not as a standalone savior. It won't win the battle by itself, but a well-supported defense holds better with it, and the enemy's attack becomes more costly.

How to use it

You deploy it during defense when you expect an assault. Place it in your defensive setup before the attack, not after the fire has started. It makes sense mainly where you want to hold the castle or a target that is facing strong waves. The bonus is purely for close combat defenders, so before you stuff it into a slot, check what your opponent will actually hit you with.

What to combine it with

It belongs to the defensive setup along with tools that increase close combat defense and protect your units. Pair it with defensive melee soldiers, as they will benefit from the bonus. Ideally, combine it with ranged defense tools to cover both directions, making it harder for the attacker to find an easy gap. Alone as a single defensive aid, it is weak; it works as a piece of a broader defensive puzzle.

Pro player tipAlways find out in advance what unit your opponent usually attacks you with. Monitor reports from previous attacks and build your defense accordingly, so you don't have slots filled with items that won't do anything against the given wave.
Common mistakeThe most common mistake is placing it in an offensive setup or expecting it to boost ranged defense as well. It does neither. A second common mistake is deploying it only when the attack has already arrived, instead of having it prepared in defense beforehand.
