Banner of the demon slayers – Goodgame Empire

Banner of the demon slayers

A narrowly specialized piece for a melee setup against the undead, unnecessary outside of that, but worthwhile in its role.

Quick overview

The Demon Slayer Banner is a purely anti-undead tool, so don't confuse it with universal equipment. It only works in battles against the undead and strengthens your melee units. Consider it a specialized piece for your backpack for seasonal events and undead waves, not something to use in regular PvP or against living opponents and rulers. However, when you are facing the undead, it does its job well and gives your melee fighters the right determination.

How to use it

Deploy it exclusively in attacks or defenses against the undead, where you rely on infantry and melee units. It is useless against any other enemy, so keep it ready in the set you take for undead campaigns or event maps. It makes the most sense where your victory depends on the survival of the front line, and you want to give it that extra determination to last longer in the field.

What to combine it with

It belongs to a setup focused on melee combat, so combine it with units and officers that also enhance close combat, not with ranged units. Build a set around it where the effects on infantry stack and where you add other anti-undead bonuses. Conversely, do not include it in a ranged attack deck, as it would just take up a slot without any benefit.

Pro player tipKeep a strictly separate undead setup stored aside and permanently include this banner in it, so during the event you can just switch the set without worrying about whether you have the right tool equipped. This will save you from scrambling when the timer is running and you don't want to forget the bonus that actually changes the outcome of the battle.
Common mistakeThe most common mistake is accidentally having it equipped against a living opponent or ruler and wondering why it does nothing, as it only works against the undead. Another classic is putting it in a setup based on ranged units, where it has nothing to enhance and the slot is wasted.
