Ice Units
Ice Units, Frost Bowman and Bone Huntress, were two powerful offensive units from the winter event Ice Championship. They were introduced in December 2015 and were among the strongest attackers of their time. However, in 2018, the reward system of the event changed, and both units became unobtainable.
Where They Come From
Both units were rewards from the Ice Championship event, one of the four major seasonal events. You obtained them by collecting points during the event, and after exceeding a certain threshold, they dropped into your castle. The first edition ran from December 15, 2015, to January 16, 2016.
- The announcement (indirect) took place on December 11, 2015, with the official launch of the units on December 15, 2015.
- In 2018, the reward system of the Ice Championship was revamped, and Frost Bowman and Bone Huntress disappeared from it. Since then, they have been unobtainable and remain only with players who managed to collect them.
Combat Properties
According to the event pack (level range 30–39), the units had the following values per unit:
- Frost Bowman – ranged attacker, approximately 135 ranged strength per unit (400 units = 54,000 ranged strength).
- Bone Huntress – melee attacker, approximately 145 melee strength per unit (400 units = 58,000 strength).
Both units consume 4 food per hour without a bakery (400 units = 1,600 food/h). For their time, they were extremely powerful offensive units that significantly strengthened attack compositions.
Stronger Variants and Other Ice Rewards
Ice Championship also awarded enhanced versions and accompanying equipment:
- Master Frost Bowman (Ice Ranged Horror) – approximately 162 ranged strength per unit (245 units = 39,690 strength), consumption 5 food/h.
- Master Bone Huntress (Ice Melee Horror) – approximately 185 melee strength per unit (245 units = 45,325 strength), consumption 5 food/h.
- Ice Tools: Whalebone Ram (-15% gate protection per unit), Bone Ladder (-15% wall protection), Shield Sled (-15% strength of ranged defenders), and Banner of the Frost Warriors (+20% battle experience).
Are They Useful Today?
If you have them in your inventory from before, they are still decent offensive units for compositions against corresponding defenders. However, you must consider a few things:
- They are unobtainable, so what you have is what you have, and fallen units cannot be replenished anywhere.
- Because of this, it makes no sense to send them on suicidal attacks or heal them at all costs, as your supply will never be replenished.
- In the modern game, they have been replaced in the role of strong attackers by units like Deadly Horror (ranged) and Demonic Grin (melee) from the Nobility Contest and Kingdom League.
