Walls and Gate
Walls (Castle Wall) and gate (Castle Gate) are the foundation of every castle's defense. The walls surround the entire castle and outposts and determine the maximum level of towers and the gate. The gate adds a bonus to the defense of the castle's front side. Here’s how to upgrade them and get the most defense out of them.
Walls are the foundation of everything
The walls protect the castle and can be upgraded up to level 9. You do not need to build them, and they upgrade instantly without waiting. Each level increases protection:
- Level 1 (+30 %) to level 5 (+120 %) - common resources, from level 5 construction and upgrade tokens.
- Level 6 (+140 %) - legendary level 70.
- Level 7 (+160 %) and 8 (+200 %) - require the skill Stone Shell from the Hall of Legends.
- Level 9 (+215 %) - requires the skill Dragon Bastion, 1440 plaster, and 7200 dragon scale tiles.
The level of the walls is also the cap for towers and the gate - level 3 walls allow a maximum of level 3 towers and gate. With each expansion, the wall automatically wraps around the new territory and adds a tower.
Gate and Front Defense
The gate strengthens the defense of the castle's front side and can also be upgraded up to level 9. You start with level 1 (+30 %) and it scales the same as the walls: level 5 gives +120 %, and level 9 gives +215 %. Higher levels require the skills Sturdy Barrier and Dragon Maw from the Hall of Legends.
In the Battle of Berimond, the gate has its own values - only three levels (+20 %, +40 %, +60 %) and different costs.
Equipment and Unit Limits
You place defensive tools in the slots on the walls and gate. The number of slots increases with the level of the building. You can increase the unit limit on the walls by:
- Permanently purchasing Wall Capacity from the Master Blacksmith, from special offers, or producing it in the Construction Yard.
- Temporarily purchasing from events (Nomad Raid, Samurai Invasion).
- Points in the Hall of Legends, relic equipment, gems, or cosmetic items.
As of February 2025, it is possible to have over 4000 units on the walls. Units on the walls are arranged according to their highest defense value.
How to Push Defense Over 900 %
The defense of the walls can be pushed over 900 %. Composition: walls level 9 (215 %), relic equipment (160 %), relic gems (60 %), relic hero (60 %), Hall of Legends (30 %), 4 Level 10 Spiked Planks (+320 %) and 1 Level 11 Trebuchet (+80 %).
For the gate, the cap is over 600 %: gate level 9 (215 %), relics (160 %), gems (60 %), hero (60 %), Hall of Legends (30 %) and 2 tools like Drawbridge (+150 %) or Level 11 Thunder Explosive Bomb (+160 %). The skill Gatekeeper adds an additional 30 % defense to the gate.
