Infirmary and Healing Units
The Infirmary (Military Hospital, in Berimond Field Infirmary) is a military building that saves a portion of injured soldiers after a battle or famine. Instead of dying permanently, they end up in the infirmary, and you can heal them back for coins or rubies. Without an infirmary, every serious attack results in bloody losses.
What the Infirmary is Used For
When a soldier falls in battle, there is a certain probability that instead of death, they will end up injured in the infirmary of the castle from which you attacked (if an infirmary is present there). A portion of the injured defenders after a defensive battle is also immediately available again, as if they were never injured.
You can build an infirmary in every kingdom, including event kingdoms like the Storm Islands or the Battle for Berimond. In event kingdoms, it is called a field infirmary, but it works the same way. You may have only one at a castle or outpost, and it belongs to the military district.
Slots and Capacity
The infirmary contains slots where injured soldiers are queued for healing. A higher level of the building unlocks more slots. Each slot can hold up to 5 soldiers, and you can permanently increase this number by researching Ambulance Coach in the research tower.
- Level 1 infirmary: 20 places for the injured, 1 slot.
- Level 5: 150 places, 3 slots.
- Level 10: 600 places, 5 slots.
- Level 11 (Legendary level 55 + research Sober up in the Hall of Legends): 700 places.
How Many Soldiers Will Survive
The key value of the infirmary is the percentage of soldiers it saves. This increases with the level of the building:
- Level 1: +1 % survivors, level 3: +3 %.
- Level 4: +5 %, level 5: +10 %, level 6: +15 %.
- Level 7: +20 % and from level 8 onwards, it remains at +25 %.
The first three levels are built for wood and stone, from level 4 onwards, rubies are required (450, 1,250, 7,500 and higher). Higher levels also provide public order, for example, +120 at level 10.
Healing Costs and Alliance Help
Healing the injured costs either coins or rubies depending on the type of unit. Healing takes some time, but it can be sped up:
- You can ask your alliance for help and heal 20 % faster. However, at least 5 teammates must respond.
- Note: if you have upgraded the infirmary with rubies, you can no longer send a request for healing assistance.
