Cultist bowman – Goodgame Empire

Cultist bowman

Offensive Ranged Special

A defender of towers and castles in the Fire Peaks with ranged attack 92 and defense 125 against ranged and 51 against melee. He cannot be recruited, he is a target, not reinforcement. His weakness is melee attackers, while against the fanatics in the same area ranged units work better. Whoever watches the ratio of the two units in a tower saves troops.

The Cultist bowman defends enemy towers and castles in the Fire Peaks. The game lists him as an attacking ranged unit with ranged attack 92, but he cannot be recruited, he is an NPC unit. When you attack his tower, you care mainly about his defensive numbers, 125 against ranged and 51 against melee. Ranged attack belongs to him, he is a ranged unit, you just meet him here in the role of a defender.

How to use it

On the tower he stands as a defender and in defense the defensive values count, so his attack 92 is not a number to plan by. What matters is what you set out at him with. Your ranged units run into defense 125, melee attackers only into 51. So against Cultist bowmen send mainly melee units, you will lose fewer troops there. Food upkeep 4 and speed 25 are in the data, but for a tower defender you need not bother with them, you will never feed him or march with him. The values on the page are base, without bonuses.

What to combine it with

In the Fire Peaks towers and castles are also defended by the Cultist fanatic, who is his counterpart, with 135 defense against melee and only 45 against ranged. Against a tower where both stand, therefore send a mixed attack. Melee units work better on the bowmen, ranged units on the fanatics, and adjust the ratio to which of them is more numerous in the tower. He has the same numbers as the Desert bowman from the Burning Sands, so you can carry experience from one area to the other. On top of that your army gets commander and equipment bonuses, which are not in the table.

Weaknesses and what to avoid

Do not send a purely ranged army at a tower full of Cultist bowmen, you run into defense 125 instead of 51. Do not let the attacking unit label or attack 92 fool you, in a tower this bowman defends and you should judge him by his defense. When Cultist fanatics predominate in the tower instead, do not bet everything on melee units, they have 135 against melee. Do not confuse him with the Renegade cultist bowman from the Barracks either, that is a different unit with attack 112. You cannot get this bowman into your own army.

Pro player tipIn the Fire Peaks it is not only towers that await you. The boss of the area is a dragon made up of Dragon claws and Dragon fire, and both parts have much higher defense, Dragon claws 250 against melee and 180 against ranged, Dragon fire even 400 and 470. The Cultist bowman with defense 51 and 125 is an ordinary tower defender next to them. For the dragon, therefore, count on a completely different army strength than for the bowman's tower.
Common mistakeA common mistake is letting the attacking unit label and attack 92 fool you and planning against him as against an attacker. In a tower he defends and his defense counts. The second mistake is sending only ranged units at him, which run into 125, instead of melee units, which have only 51 against them.
