Murder hole

Defensive

A solid defensive support for the walls. It pays off when you align it with the correct phase of defense and save it for castles that you must hold.

Quick overview

TypeDefensive

The nozzle of misfortune is purely a defensive tool that increases the protection of your walls. Do not expect any effect in attack from it; its strength lies only in defense behind the walls. When defending a castle and wanting to squeeze the maximum from your walls, this nozzle will help you add an extra defensive bonus.

How to use it

You deploy the tool only in the defense window, where you select tools for the battle for the commander and units, not as a buff activated in advance. It is useful whenever you are defending a castle that matters to you, whether it is your home castle or a point you do not want to lose. Because it strengthens the walls, it is mainly beneficial in defense based on walls, not anywhere else. Watch how much defense your walls provide, and choose tools accordingly, so the bonus lands where the battle takes place.

What to combine it with

In GGE, defense is divided into fighting on the walls, in the courtyard, and in front of the gate, and tools always target one of those phases. Therefore, pair the nozzle with a commander and units that hold the same line as your bonus to the walls; otherwise, part of your defense will remain weak. Supplement it with additional defensive tools in the same phase so that the effects stack and the attacker hits directly where you are strongest. A blind mix of tools across phases will dilute your strength.

Pro player tipSave these nozzles for the defense of castles that you really care about, and do not waste them on marginal targets. They are most beneficial when a stronger player with a solid setup is attacking you, not on the first annoying wave from a weaker one. Before a hard attack comes, be clear about how much defense your walls provide, so you do not make a wrong choice when selecting tools in the defense window.
Common mistakeA classic mistake is to select a nozzle for the walls but place weak units behind them, as no matter how big the bonus to the walls, the castle itself will not hold. Similarly, do not mix tools across different phases of defense; otherwise, the attack will flow through where you have not reinforced anything. And do not confuse tools with buffs that are activated in advance; you select them only in the defense window for the commander and army.
