Large Samurai token chest – Goodgame Empire

Large Samurai token chest

Defensive

A solid defensive support for the samurai branch that pays off during periods of active symbol collection. Outside of that, it just blocks a slot.

Quick overview

TypeDefensive

The Great Chest of Samurai Symbols is a defensive tool that increases the number of samurai symbols fallen as loot. If you are pursuing the samurai (eastern) branch and collecting symbols, you should have this equipped. It won't win battles on its own; it's more of a quiet worker in the background - individually, it does almost nothing, but with more defenses, your gains can add up nicely. It only makes sense if you actually need those symbols for something.

How to use it

Equip it in defense when you are collecting samurai symbols and want to extract as much loot as possible from repelled attacks. It is purely a defensive tool, so it won't increase symbols during an attack - count on it only for castle defense. Once you have enough symbols and nothing to spend them on, feel free to free up the slot for something more useful. The bonus to gains is only valid in the eastern branch; in other branches, it is a wasted slot.

What to combine it with

It belongs to a defensive setup focused on the samurai branch. Build it so that you can realistically win the defense - you won't get any loot from a lost defense, so a chest without solid defense has nothing to increase. Add defensive officers and defensive bonuses to it, and only then consider the gains. In summary: first defend, then collect more symbols, and convert them into additional defensive units. A loop that reinforces itself.

Pro player tipKeep the chest in the setup only during the period when you are actively collecting and spending symbols. They have a usage cap - when you have a stockpile and nothing to spend them on, the bonus to gains is useless. Time it for a phase when you know you will be attacked repeatedly, so the effect applies to as many defenses as possible in succession.
Common mistakeThe most common mistake is to throw it into an offensive setup or expect it to increase symbols from attacks - it works exclusively in defense. The second trap is the wrong branch: the bonus to samurai symbols only applies in the eastern branch; elsewhere, it is a wasted slot. And remember, without a won defense, no loot will fall, so a chest without solid defense behind it won't yield anything.
