The Giant Chest of Nomad Plates is a defensive tool that increases the amount of Khan's plates you loot during a defended attack. In other words, the more assaults you repel during the Nomad season, the more plates you will squeeze out from each successful defense compared to normal. If you actively play Nomads and want to collect plates for the trader or for rewards, this is exactly the tool you want to have on hand. It won't boost your soldiers by itself, but it will turn your defense into a tool for farming plates.

How to use it

Deploy it in your castle or at a position where you expect attacks during the Nomad event, ideally where you anticipate a lot of incoming assaults. It only works during defense, so there's no point in activating it when no one is attacking you. You will get the most out of it during the active phase of the Nomads, when plates are actually being collected and the activity on your account is the highest. Before activating, make sure your defense is set up to actually withstand the assaults, because you will only receive the bonus from what you successfully defend.

What to combine it with

It works great with a classic defensive setup, meaning good defensive commanders and tools that increase the defensive values of units and walls. This chest only generates profit from survived defenses, so let it run alongside everything that helps you withstand attacks at all. Logically, it belongs with other items that increase plate gains during the Nomads, so if you have multiple bonuses for plates, stack them together in one defensive event.

Pro player tipWatch your timing. Activate it precisely during the window when you know the most assaults will come your way, not a day in advance into the void. And rely on it only when you have a defense that can realistically hold off attacks; otherwise, instead of gaining, you will just be collecting losses. It’s better to defend against ten attacks with this tool than to throw away twenty without it, because plates only drop from those you withstand.

Common mistakeThe most common mistake is deploying it with a leaky defense. The bonus applies to plates looted from defended attacks, so if you fail to repel the assault, you won't receive any plates and the tool will be wasted. Another classic is activating it outside the Nomad season or during a period when no one is attacking you, causing its effect to fizzle out.
