The box with samurai symbols is a collectible defensive item — it does not strengthen your walls by itself, but it increases the number of samurai symbols you receive as loot. And that is exactly what matters, as you will spend those symbols on samurai (eastern) equipment. My view: it is a tool for farming rewards, not for defending the castle. Those who pursue the eastern branch and want to extract good defensive pieces from it will appreciate it. Those who do not care about the symbols can easily skip it.

How to use it

Use it when you are defending and want to extract as many samurai symbols as possible from that defense. It makes no sense for attacking or gathering resources — it only works where loot with symbols actually drops. You will get the most benefit from it during the phase when you are specifically collecting symbols for a particular piece of eastern equipment. If you are not currently interested in symbols, it is a wasted slot, and you would be better off using a tool that actually boosts your defense.

What to combine it with

It belongs to the collectible focus on samurai symbols — combine it with other bonuses that increase loot gain, so the effects stack and you can maximize the number of symbols from one defense. Logically, it fits with the eastern branch, where you will subsequently spend those symbols. Conversely, do not pair it with hard defensive pieces that increase your defensive values — that is a different role. You are either focusing on rewards or on the survival of the defense, and each requires a different approach.

Pro player tipOnly reach for it when you are actively farming symbols — at any other time, it is of no use to you, as it changes the reward but does not boost your defense. When you identify a period when you want to gather symbols for specific equipment, stack this box with other symbol bonuses and maximize that window. Outside of it, focus on pure combat defense.

Common mistakeThe most common mistake is treating it as a full-fledged defense and expecting that it will make your walls last longer. It won't — it does not increase your defensive values, it only changes the reward you receive from battle. Another classic mistake is counting on it in places where no symbols drop, and then being surprised that 'it does nothing'. It works exclusively for gaining samurai symbols, nowhere else.
