Coal
Coal is a special resource unlocked in the Everwinter Glacier. It is used for building special buildings in the castle and for trading in the Native Village. It is produced by the Coalman, but can also be obtained as loot and from chests.
What coal is used for
Coal is a special resource unlocked in the Everwinter Glacier and is used for building special buildings in the castle. You can produce it using Coalmen, but they are unlocked only after upgrading the Native Village to level 1.
How to obtain coal
- Raid it in the Everwinter Glacier or from other lords of the castle (from level 70 also from Foreign Castles and Blood Raven Castles).
- You can find it in treasure chests that you receive when expanding the walls of the glacier castle.
- You will obtain a minimal amount from the Mercenary Post (epically, sometimes for free).
Trading in the Native Village
You can exchange coal in the Native Village for coins, gems, soldiers, and a unique piece of castellan equipment - Plate of the Frozen Guard. The more you upgrade the village, the more items you will unlock and obtain.
Moving coal between kingdoms
Once you reach level 70, you can transfer coal to other kingdoms. However, the transfer incurs a loss: 20% when moving to the Storm Islands, the Fire Peaks, and the Burning Sands, and 25% to the Great Empire. Keep this in mind when planning logistics.
Coalman (production)
The Coalman is a civilian production building that you can only build in the castle in the Everwinter Glacier. Only two Coalmen will achieve full 100% efficiency - the more you build, the lower their productivity. It is also affected by public order and the laboratory. Basic production increases from +13 at level 1 to +63 at level 11 (the highest level requires the Architect's Pavilion).
