Town house – Goodgame Empire

Town house

A strong source of population and taxes for players who have public order under control and can handle the fact that the house takes up 5×5 tiles.

Quick overview

Max level12
Size5×5
PriorityMedium priority

The Town House is an upgraded version of the regular dwelling. It gives you more population and, above all, a higher tax income, but at the cost of reduced public order. When you need to pack as many people into your castle as possible and extract more coins from them, this is the building you will reach for. However, keep in mind that it takes up 5×5 tiles, so it will take a significant amount of space in your castle.

When to build it

Build it when your economy is already running and you want to increase coin production. There's no point in rushing to build it at the beginning when you're more focused on basic infrastructure and defense. Once you're looking for ways to collect more taxes, the Town House is a good choice. Just don't build it when you're already on the edge with your residents' satisfaction.

Is it worth upgrading?

If you do build it, it's worth upgrading it right away. With each level, both the population and tax yield increase, so an unfinished Town House at a low level is just a waste of 5×5 space. The maximum level is 12, and the higher you get, the better the building pays off for the space it occupies. Upgrade gradually and time your upgrades so that you are not surprised by a drop in satisfaction.

Pro player tipBuild Town Houses alongside buildings and decorations that increase public order. This will compensate for their negative impact and allow you to afford more without a drop in satisfaction. First, boost your order reserves and only then add houses, not the other way around.
Common mistakeThe most common mistake is to build a few Town Houses at once without keeping an eye on public order. Your order will drop, residents will be unhappy, and instead of higher taxes, you suddenly produce less. Another classic mistake is leaving the house at a low level and then wondering why it takes up so much space for such a small benefit.
