The cargo ship is your storage for aquamarine and also increases your cargo points. Aquamarine is a valuable resource in the maritime part of the game, so without a decent capacity, your storage will overflow and you'll lose excess resources. Think of it as the maritime equivalent of a resource warehouse: the more aquamarine you can hold, the greater your supply for buildings, upgrades, and activities on the water.
When to build it
Build it when you start fully operating at sea and aquamarine becomes a limiting factor. If you are just getting your main castle up and only dealing with the sea marginally, there’s no point in rushing to build it at the expense of production and army. However, once you start regularly working on the maritime part and see that your aquamarine capacity is insufficient, it’s time for it.
Is it worth upgrading?
It is worth upgrading, but wisely. Each level increases your capacity for aquamarine and cargo points, so if you are actively working at sea, upgrading pays off. Treat the first levels as a foundation, once you notice your storage is overflowing. Add higher levels gradually as your activity on the water increases, so you don’t waste resources that are needed elsewhere.
