Quick overview
| Max level | 35 |
|---|---|
| Size | 5×5 |
| Priority | Build it when your construction starts to ramp up. |
The Master Builder saves you resources on every construction and upgrade of buildings in the castle - wood and stone, materials that you would otherwise use up entirely. Note that the discount only applies to building and upgrading buildings, not to the production of units or tools, which is a common misconception. The higher the level, the greater the discount, and since in this game you are constantly building and rebuilding (buildings are destroyed and rebuilt during events), it keeps working for you. It’s not defense or soldiers, but if you are constantly upgrading something, it will gradually pay for itself.
When to build it
Build it as soon as you have a construction queue going and it’s worth investing resources and space into it. In the very beginning, don’t overdo it - resources are cheap, the queue is short, and the 5×5 area and materials are better spent on production and military buildings that will advance you further. However, as soon as you start building and upgrading on a large scale, it’s time to build it. The sooner you have it, the more additional buildings will benefit from the discount.
Is it worth upgrading?
It pays off. Each level increases the percentage of saved resources, so if you plan to play long and build a lot, push it up. You don’t have to rush to max it out (35) immediately - it’s reasonable to upgrade it gradually alongside the growth of your castle and your building ambitions. Neglecting it and leaving it at a low level is a waste, as each additional level gives you discounts on everything you will build and upgrade in the future.
