Fire station – Goodgame Empire

Fire station

Defensive

A useful insurance policy against fire attacks, but only if such attacks are actually coming your way; otherwise, it is a useless space consumer.

Quick overview

CategoryDefensive
Max level4
Size6×6
PriorityOptional

The Fire Station is purely a defensive building, whose only task is to reduce the fire damage that enemies inflict during raids and sabotage. When someone attacks you with fire tools or sends a saboteur, this building keeps the damage in check. It does not produce anything on its own nor does it defend walls, so consider it an insurance policy, not a pillar of defense. Honestly, most players underestimate it until they get hit hard for the first time and half their castle is on fire.

When to build it

Build it when you have already sorted out production, storage, and basic military defense. It is not a building you need from the first hour of playing. On the contrary, if you are active in an area with aggressive neighbors or participating in events where you receive attacks with fire equipment, prioritize it higher. It takes up 6×6 tiles, which is quite a bit of space, so think carefully about whether you can really afford it at that stage of the game at the expense of production buildings.

Is it worth upgrading?

It is worth upgrading only when you are actually using it, that is, when you are receiving fire attacks. The maximum level is 4, and each additional level will reduce a larger portion of fire damage. If you live in a quiet corner of the map, feel free to leave it at a lower level and invest elsewhere. However, if you regularly receive attacks, upgrade it; at higher levels, the difference in saved resources for repairs will be most noticeable.

Pro player tipEvaluate who and what is attacking you. When you check the defense reports, you will see if the attackers are sending fire tools. If they are, the Fire Station will save you more resources on repairs than it costs to operate. If not, keep it low and save space and resources. Plan it into your castle layout along with other defensive buildings so that its 6×6 does not disrupt your production layout.
Common mistakeThe most common mistake is building it too early and then wondering why your economy is slow. The second classic is the opposite, where you completely ignore it and then wonder why your castle is on fire after every raid and you are paying a fortune for repairs. And third, people confuse fire protection with overall defense; the Fire Station does not increase the strength of the garrison or the resilience of the walls, it only addresses fire damage.
