The Nobility Contest's Eight Categories Never Stop Running
The Nobility Contest is the most underrated event in the game — mainly because it runs almost nonstop and players have stopped even noticing it. Yet it scores exactly the stuff you're doing anyway: attacking, recruiting, healing, plundering. Players who know the scoring rules for its eight categories rack up rewards without even trying; players who don't just leave them on the table. This article breaks down all eight categories with their exact point rates, the leaderboard cutoffs, and the tactics for turning ordinary play into a ranked finish.
How the Nobility Contest Works
The Nobility Contest unlocks at level 10, and you'll find it in the event overview in front of your castle. King Ludwig the Round sets a goal — a category that often lines up with whatever event is currently running — and you earn points toward it just by playing normally. The progress bar at the bottom fills up toward threshold rewards, and at the same time you're competing on the leaderboard within your level bracket.
Rewards differ by level. Players below level 70 get resource sacks, Fast Travel Feathers, tickets, troops, tools, random heroes (Rare through Legendary), random gems, Fusion Catalysts, Construction and Upgrade Tokens, VIP points and VIP time, Demon Horror and Deathly Horror units, and the winner even gets a decoration — from both thresholds and rankings.
Since February 2023, players at level 70+ instead get Gold and Silver Pieces for the Master Blacksmith: the category winner takes 4,000 Gold and 2,500 Silver Pieces, while the top 250 get 2,400 Gold and 1,500 Silver.
The Eight Categories and Their Exact Scoring
The categories rotate, and each one has its own scoring rules:
| Category | What Scores | Point Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Paths of Glory | Honor from attacking other lords' castles, Bloodcrows and players | 1 point per Honor |
| Tool Collector | obtaining and crafting tools | 1 point per tool obtained, 10 points per tool crafted |
| Forward, March! | recruiting troops | 1 point per unit with minimum attack power, 10 points for any recruit |
| Mastersmith | forging gear | 1 point Rare, 2 points Epic, 3 points Legendary |
| Get Well Soon | healing in the hospital | 1 point per healed unit with minimum power |
| What You Can Carry | resources plundered | points = resources plundered / 100 (rubies and royal resources count too, from 100 units up) |
| Soldier of Fortune | spinning the Wheel of Fortune | 1 point in normal mode, 10 points in Pro mode |
| Dead or Alive | Shady Lady quests | 1 point per defeated target lord |
An example from the plundering category: if you haul 10,000 wood, 10,000 stone, 20,000 food, and 10,000 iron off a castle, that's 50,000 resources = 500 points. For the categories marked with an asterisk in-game (tools, healing, plundering, Wheel of Fortune), you don't see anyone else's ranking — only your own.
Where the Leaderboard Competition Is Thinnest
The second set of rewards is handed out based on your ranking within your level bracket's leaderboard. The cutoffs for a rewarded spot:
| Category | Level 10–19 | Level 20–69 | Legendary Levels |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paths of Glory, Tool Collector, Forward March, Mastersmith, Get Well Soon, What You Can Carry | top 20 | top 50 | top 250 |
| Soldier of Fortune, Dead or Alive | top 50 | top 50 | top 250 |
The level brackets are finely split: 10–14, 15–19, 20–24, 25–29, 30–49, and 50–69, plus Legendary. That means in the 20–24 and 25–29 brackets you're only up against players a handful of levels apart — and there, a top-50 finish is often just a matter of one active evening. The 30–49 bracket, by contrast, is the widest and has the toughest competition before level 70.
When to Push and When to Let It Go
Match the category to what you're already doing anyway. Nomads running while Paths of Glory is live? Tough luck — camps don't give Honor. But when the Kingdom Wars are on, every attack rains down Honor and contest points at the same time. Forward, March! lines up with rebuilding your army after an event, Get Well Soon with clearing out the hospital, and What You Can Carry with your farming days.
Use the tenfold multipliers. For tools, crafting gives 10 points per item (versus just 1 for simply obtaining one) — cheap tools straight from the workshop are the fastest points in the game. For recruiting, any recruit gives 10 points — a queue full of the cheapest units wins the category that other players are farming with expensive armies.
The hospital is a points vault. The healing category rewards what you keep putting off: a full hospital after an event is a stockpile of hundreds of points — save it for the day the category is running, as long as your capacity can hold it.
Below level 70, the contest has the best reward-to-effort ratio in the game — random heroes, gems, and tokens for activity you'd be doing anyway. Above 70, it's a steady stream of Gold Pieces: 2,400 for a top-250 finish is an amount you'd otherwise have to grind an entire event elsewhere to collect.
